Getting other people to promote your web site is one of the most popular Internet marketing methods around, today. Affiliate relationships are all the rave with people who have web sites. Web marketers worldwide are trading links everyday, in hopes of driving each other’s traffic to their respective sites. This is certainly something any hard-working Internet business owner should do, but it may be a bit overrated. While using affiliate advertising is a strong marketing ploy, effective use of multiple e-mail lists and an autoresponder is one of the most powerful, multi-faceted marketing tools available today.
Many Internet marketers are using autoresponders, but very few are getting the most from them. Most people use their autoresponders strictly to publish ezines. A well-written ezine is a powerful tool, no doubt, and should be part of any successful online business, but there is so much more to autoresponders that many people overlook. I have spent recent months experimenting with various uses for my autoresponder.
Following is a variety of ways to increase your customer base with proper autoresponder use..

There has been growing speculation around the SEO world that reciprocal linking is a thing of the past. Rumors are abound that PR means less and less, if anything. Bill Gates came out of his cave to say that "Today’s search is nothing" and that it won’t be that way for long. There are quiet rumblings in the SEO back alleys of a new, state-of- the-art search engine currently indexing the internet. Websites are dropping off the face of the planet. And we’re all left to sit here and put together the pieces. So what is in store for 2005?
1) Reciprocal links, while not becoming totally dead, are decreasing in value, and there will most likely be an algorithm update to lessen their importance. The original thought process behind the importance of a link was that it was seen as a "vote" for the linked-to site. Now that reciprocal links are everywhere, it is hardly a great way to count "votes" for a website. Reciprocal linking will continue around the internet, although the amount of people who try to get away with one-way links (by never getting back to you once you’ve added their link) will increase significantly. This will, of course, be an attempt to acquire one-way links, which brings us to our next subject….

Have you ever posted a message?
If yes, now you may learn some free web advertising secrets on how to market your products and services in chat rooms.
Chat Room Marketing is the use of online chat rooms to promote your product or service.
Chat rooms are usually broken into categories.
Find the right chat room where your targeted audience would gather.
Create a chat room profile with your ad, business info, or signature file in it.
Announce to everyone in the chat room something interesting or free that’s offered on your web site.
This will draw visitors to your web site.
Always be aware of chat room rules before engaging the visitors in a sales pitch that could be considered SPAM.
Send electronic messages to target people in the chat room that would be interested in your products or services.
Start a conversation with them.
After a few moments indirectly bring your sales pitch into the conversation.
This is a great way to do one-on-one selling electronically.
Do not directly SPAM them with your messages.

For online marketing, it helps greatly to get your website in front of people who are actually looking for the product, service, or opportunity that you are offering. This refers to the concept of marketing your sites to your target audience, rather than wasting your time, effort, and money on people who are not already interested in what you have to offer.
Be wary of “massive action” techniques in this era when many ISPs feel their hottest marketing theme is the blocking of incoming emails, which they decide their customers do not want to receive (they are the self appointed “information police”).
Many of the sources of cheap, high volume leads supply you with leads that have absolutely no interest in your particular business (or product or service) and furthermore, have been put into the list in such a manner that can get you into trouble with your ISP because you are unwittingly spamming (many of these bulk lead lists are created by robots that crawl the Internet and harvest email addresses) the recipients.
Sphere: Related ContentThere’s a stiff wind blowing in a new direction on the web. And you’d benefit from taking the time to notice the direction its headed.
Website owners are clamoring for “holy grail” hyper targeted (relevant) links from sites with a lot of traffic and high pagerank. More than ever, we are all looking for fewer links to our sites, but much more powerful links.
Another trend to watch and certainly implement on your site is getting the links out of your link directory and onto the content pages of your site.
The trick here is to go through you link directory and clear it of dead wood. Certainly all links who are not reciprocating must go. Then get rid of low-traffic sites with no or very little pagerank. They are doing you no good.
Once you have whittled your directory down to a lean, mean group of links from sites that matter, contact those partners and tell them you are moving their link to a higher traffic spot on your site.
They will of course be glad to hear this. Also look out for deals you can make with each of them to do the same for your site.
Sphere: Related ContentGoogle likes incoming links, especially links from high-ranking, on-topic pages that include keywords in the link text. Google doesn’t like over-optimized, high keyword densities and over use of keywords in headings, etc. like they use to.
Yahoo, on the other hand, looks at on-page factors more, such as keyword density, keywords in headings, etc. That is where the problem comes in.
Of course, they both look at everyting, but keep these two very important points in mind when you are trying to optimize your site.
When you search both Google and Yahoo for a keyword phrase, you will usually find a BIG difference in the Search Engine Results Pages or “Serps” as it is usually called. Serps just means the list of websites that show up when you do a search on any of the search engines.
Back to Yahoo and Google. Here’s why the results are different and in a nutshell what you have to do to rank high on each one of them.
Links from other websites are the most important thing to Google. The higher the ranking of the actual page your link is on the better. Remember it is NOT the ranking of the Home page of the site you are getting the link from, but the ranking of the page your link is actually on that counts.

Power Publishing on Your Own Site
The basic idea is simply to create lots of pages on your site(s) and embed links pointing back to your most important target pages. This works because a link pointing at a page on your site — your home page, for instance — enhances that page whether it is coming from outside or inside your site.
Think about how this might work if you had one or two secondary or support sites. Build some content on Sites B and C pointing back to pages on Site A. Isn’t that a lot easier (and much more powerful) than wasting time asking anonymous webmasters for links on their spammy link pages?
Create big batches of content pages
