Trafffic Equal Sales?

Everything being equal, more traffic to your website translates into more sales. Hence you read a lot lately about ways to generate more traffic to your website.

I’d like to begin by saying that more traffic does not necessarily equal more sales. Your website can attract tons of traffic for the freebies and if it is not conducive to making sales, you will probably not make more sales. Being conducive to more sales means offering quality, needed products at a good price, and making it easy to order these products. This point must always be kept in mind.

Everything is not usually equal - especially if you are offering the same affiliate products as everyone else. The one thing that distinguishes your site from all the others is the relationship you have with your site visitors. Given the chance to buy the same product from hundreds of sites, most people will buy from someone they know, trust, and feel some type of connection with. This is true for me and I am sure it is true for most of you. So part of your focus everyday must be on being responsive to customers reaching out to you. They reach out with questions, comments, requests for help, and other notes. If you are not responding promptly to these little notes you are missing a very big part of the picture.

Web Site Promotion - Are You Requesting Free Backlinks?

Web Site Promotion - Are You Requesting Free Backlinks?
 by: Robert Fuess

Everyone who is trying to improve their web site’s ranking wants backlinks. This is an essential ingredient to your web site promotion strategy. Some happen because the right person (a webmaster) stumbled across your web site and likes your content. But you can get many more links on other web sites pointing to yours - if only you ask them. One-way links (where they link to your page but you don’t have to link back) are much more valuable to your web site promotion than link exchanges, and they often take the same amount of effort to obtain. Search engines rate these more heavily when evaluating your web site. These free backlinks can be obtained by politely asking the webmaster to make the addition of your web site resource.

Only if a webmaster requests a link exchange do I consider doing such. The web site promotion strategy I normally use is to start by asking for what I really want.

WHAT NOT TO DO:

Above all, courtesy and personal touch is a must with these emails. Don’t make these requests appear too cold or canned. Don’t be insistent or prideful.

Marketing With Blogs - Part 2

In part 1 of this article series on marketing with blogs, I discussed the reasons why blogs are excellent tools for marketing.

In this article I outline some tips on using your blog as a good vehicle for your marketing communications.

Tip # 1: Choose The Topic Of Your Blog Well

Make sure you are targeting the right audience for your products. You might love golf, but you can’t use it to sell your products unless they’re meant for golfers.

You generally wouldn’t write about something like golf on a marketing blog, unless you’re using it as a metaphor.

Pick the topic that will attract the right audience ? people who are looking for your products, but more importantly, people who are willing to actually spend money on them.

If you’re not an expert on your topic, but are learning about it, blog about your learning process. There’s no shame in being a learner, in admitting that you don’t know everything.

In fact your journey could even teach others who are learning and help them relate to your experiences. Products you recommend would then be easy to sell to this group because you’ve established the emotional connection that makes selling easier.

Online Advertising Techniques

Online advertising is necessary for your computer business to grow. An attention-grabbing ad is very important to the success of your web site. An ad written to draw visits to your site must be exciting, appealing, and friendly. The secret to a successful ad is to grab your target market’s attention. Potential customers read ads only when they catch their attention. Plan your online advertising around your ad’s appeal to your customers.

The purpose of online advertising is to create a sense of urgency. "Act Now!" "Increase Your Wealth!" "Limited Offer." All these phases cause the customer to want to get in on the excitement. Online advertising’s main goal is to get your subject’s attention, arouse their interest, and capture their imagination. If you write your own ads, make sure to make them attention grabbing, not too overboard. Sometimes ads that push a customer too hard result in lost sales. Don’t be too pushy but yet ask for the sale.

When writing online advertising always remember you have just seconds to capture interest. If your ad copy moves slowly or sounds boring, you will likely lose the customer’s attention and surely they will click onto another site. The headline of your ad is the first place that can provide impact. An effective headline will make the reader want to learn more about your product or service. Spice them up and appeal to their emotions.

Search Engine Ranking - What Works Now

The methods employed to increase your search engine rankings may seem like rocket science to you, so you have probably avoided dealing with this issue. I am here to tell you - the time has come to face your website! A high search engine ranking for your website is so essential that if you have the slightest desire to actually succeed in your business, there is no way you can continue to avoid this issue.

At least 85% of people looking for goods and services on the Internet find websites through search engines such as Google, Yahoo, and MSN. The idea of optimizing your pages for high search engine rankings is to attract targeted customers to your site who will be more than likely to make a purchase. The higher your page comes up in search engine results, the greater the traffic that is directed to your website. That’s what search engine optimization is about.

You can immerse yourself in all the technical information available online to figure out how to optimize your web pages to achieve higher rankings. Or you can look at a few simple items on your pages, make some small adjustments, and most likely see improved rankings quite rapidly. The first item you should examine is the title bar on your homepage.

Free Gifts

Free Gifts
 by: J Square Humboldt

Gift-giving is a year-around enterprise these days, so allow me to do a favor to your wallet whilst assisting you with the spirit of giving …

Cyberspace is loaded with free items that can even make opening Christmas cards a pleasant surprise. It won’t cost you anything, for example, to postscript your greeting with a URL that leads to something enjoyably free.

If you know someone who likes games, there are five sites you might want to share:

1. GameDept.com features a number of free online games, from actionware to puzzles. The list is often updated and includes a rating system that is quite useful in making selections.

2. PlayerPlaza.com allows the stakes to be raised, if so desired. Not only do they have free games that allow for online competition, they also include the option of playing for money. This is a site for the pro who really thinks they’re a pro.

3. Mindgames is for the Mensa candidates. Its menu is composed mostly of card, board and word games that, to quote them, are ‘an eclectic collection … to challenge the mind.’

Google AdSense - A Quick Overview For Beginners

In Google AdWords, the advertisers’ links show up when someone types a certain keyword to Google search engine’s box and enters it. The links will show up on the right hand side of the results page.

In Google AdSense, the advertisers’ links show up on the third party’s page if the rich content of the page is relevant to those ads. In a rich-content website on Internet Marketing, the ads that appear are related to Internet Marketing.

If your rich-content site is about “making money online” and you sign up for Google AdSense, then Google will decide that the proper ads for your page are about “making money opportunity”.

To make the right decision which ads should be shown on the third party’s web pages, Google applies its Page Ranking technology, which is called content-targeting.

The third party will earn shares with Google everytime visitors click on the ads.

So, if you have a rich content site, signing up for Google AdSense could be fun. If you are accepted by Google (yes, many sites are rejected by Google!), you will be given a code. All you have to do is just paste the code to your HTML page, you decide the location and settings.

Using Internet Direct Mail To Increase Your Company?s Profits

"I want to sell my company’s products on the Web, but how do I get potential clients to visit my site," a client asked recently. The answer is a strategy that has proven extremely effective for many different businesses?Internet Direct Mail.

One of the most common mistakes many businesses make is putting up a website and then sitting around biting their nails waiting for people to come. This approach isn’t going to work. If you want people to visit your site, you’ve got to make it happen. And sending an e-mail invitation is one of the best ways to build website traffic and boost your company’s profits.

Of course, sending an e-mail to a random group of people asking them to "please come and visit our site," isn’t going to work very well either. You need to get your e-mail to the right people and then give those people a reason to visit, or they won’t bother. The most effective way to achieve a high response to an e-mail marketing campaign is to follow these guidelines:
